In late 2023, in collaboration with our friends at Supereight Studio, we developed a new website for the Crop Science Centre, a Cambridge University based research centre. The Centre focuses on pioneering new technologies to enhance agricultural productivity on a global scale, addressing challenges in food security and sustainability. Given our previous experience with similar projects, including the ENSA initiative, we found it deeply rewarding to contribute to a mission-driven project centred on sustainability and scientific progress.
Our goal was to create a website that was not only visually appealing but also functional, accessible, and adaptable to the evolving needs of the Crop Science Centre. The project provided us with a valuable opportunity to overhaul our development workflows, ensuring greater agility, scalability and ease of use for future projects.
While the site itself was relatively straightforward in terms of functionality, our focus was on delivering an experience that seamlessly combined form and function. A key aspect of our approach was to implement a thoughtfully designed content management system (a heavily customised WordPress platform) – allowing CSC to easily update and expand content without compromising the website’s structural integrity or design consistency.
The final website successfully delivered on all key objectives: a modern, user-friendly platform that reflects the Crop Science Centre’s brand, mission, and research goals. The intuitive CMS empowers the Centre’s team to manage content efficiently, ensuring that the site remains up-to-date with the latest advancements and findings.
It's all very well showing you someone else's project, but we'd love to hear about yours.
